called (and I'm not making this up) "I get tears in my ears from lyin' on my back while I cry over you"
...and I think it may have been by Jeff Foxworthy, but that does not decrease it's validity.
Sometimes, like once every 6 to 9 months, I cry myself to sleep (little known fact -- i.e. by my sisters and as of tonight Nick) I cry myself to sleep.
and tonight
It's because I miss you all so much.
OK that was very hard to d w o typos. the end.

First of all: love you xoxoxo.
Second of all: Being thousands of miles away from home but still in the US is almost worse than a foreign country because everything feels so close to "right". But, I've found that the following things help...
1. Find an awesome dive bar with cool people and possibly darts. Everything is better over a good draft beer and a sticky floor.
2. Sex. I mean, obvious, but something I neglected to use in Seattle so I thought I'd mention it.
3. I have a book called "The Sweet Potato Queens' Book of Love" which suggests the remedy of something called 'Chocolate Stuff'. It's in a chapter called "What to Eat When Tradgedy Strikes - or just for entertainment" (and the author's from Jackson, MS so the deep South nature of the recipe may be appealing). From Jill Connor Browne:
Chocolate Stuff
Set the oven to 300. Beat 2 eggs with 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of flour. Add 1/4 tsp of salt. In the microwave, melt together one stick of butter I never uses unsalted; I think it tastes flat) and 2 fairly heaping tbsps of Hershey's cocoa. Get regular Hershey's in the dark brown box - anything else is different and will screw it up. Dump the butter mixture into the other things, and stir it up good. Then add a running-over tsp of vanilla. I use real vanilla, but the grocery store kind won't ruin it. Stir that up, too. If you decide to go for nuts, use a whole bunch of pecans, chopped up fine.
Pour the Stuff into a greased loaf pan, set the whole pan in a pan of water and stick the whole business in the oven. Depending on how your oven cooks, it needs to stay in there for 40 to 50 minutes. You can reach in there and tap on the top of it at 40 minutes. If it seems crunchy, take it out. You can't really undercook it, since it's good raw, but you don't want to overcook it and lose the gooey texture so crucial to the whole texture experience.
4. I love you some more :)
You are awesome :)
I'm sorry for drunk blogging, but yeah -- I was really sad last night. Halloween is a holiday that's weird to spend without friends :)
I will make chocolate stuff tonight.
I love you :)
Erin!! What a sad sweet blog post. I'm sorry you had a hard night. Starting anew is never as easy as staying put.
Good advice, Nicky. Another suggestion... find local groups that do things you like and go meet new people doing fun things! How about local Habitat for Humanity group? Working on projects with like-minded people is fulfilling and bond-creating :)
Can't wait to see you in 2 months. It's not that long now! We'll all hug hug hug and make up for lost time. Much love.
I'm making you a virtual cup of tea. xoxo
