Hi lovers:
After spending a blissful (super) long weekend with the Tilley-Manuliks, I'm jonesing for some more quad time. Hence, my mind wanders to one of my favorite quadlidays: New Year's Eve. Matt and I would like to be in DC and spend NYE with you all. NNTM will also be in town this year. Who's around? Who can host? We may be able to use the Lynchs' Bethesda house if they're in Stone Harbor, which they normally are. Any other thoughts?
We're getting close to buying our plane tickets and I want to make sure I have some good dates picked that coincide with when you guys are around/free. Right now we're thinking December 23-January 4. Becca W, when will you be in Oklahoma? Is there a chance that Abby or Erin might be around?

Not that I'm not intrigued by the allure of your radio silence, but Matt and I would like to buy our plane tickets soon. I'd rather not blow the leave necessary to be home the whole time Matt is off, from December 20-January 4. So, we're going to a week and a half: either the 20-28/29 or the 23-4. If you girls are around for New Years and want to hang out, we'll definitely do the latter. Otherwise we may want to return to SATX to celebrate with folks here.
Gwyn, Liz, Nicky, Becca (maybe others) what are your plans for the holidays?
I'm flying in to San Antonio on the 9th of January for a math conference, but besides that I'd make my plans around you guys. Jason and I could host, but there's a chance we'll be moving to Frederick in the next few weeks, so it could be a little tight. We're free though for anything.
I won't be able to take much time off during Xmas, I will definitely be back in town for NYE with you all :). My house is not an ideal place to host a party as there is a family with 6 children living below me.
I am not positive about what I will be doing because we might be spending the holiday in Asheville at my sister's. That said, I think that I would still be back up in MD by NYE and I of course want to spend it quadside. We just need to make sure we have a babysitter!
I wish I could tell you more, but... all I can say is that I have no idea where I will be or when. Which could be construed as a good/useful response in that it means that my needs don't need to be taken into consideration for planning purposes! Whatever happens, I will come if I can. Is a DC NYE the most likely option?
Yay! It sounds like at least a few of you will be around on NYE. This is great news! We'll plan to be in DC then.
And, Gwyn, SO excited that you'll be down here in Jan. You're welcome to stay with us to extend your trip a couple of days or end lieu of the conference hotel if you like. We're a 20 minute walk down the riverwalk to everywhere "downtown." I am loving how many quadlings I've gotten to see down here!!
:( Unfortunately, I won't be around this year for NYE and am so sad about that. (Of course, this assumes my visa is approved and issued in a timely manner). However, you are all welcome to come visit me in the UK :) I am already excited for Stokar's Halloween invasion, and I hope maybe to see a few other quadlings in the land of whiskey :)
Gwyn - you should totes hang out in San Antonio. Chez Stokar is amazeballs -- mainly because of excellent, excellent hosts :)
