New Years

Ok, so I know it is only November, but I am sitting in starbucks next to this romantic fireplace and they are playing Christmas music. And I got to thinking of all of you and how crazier/busier things are going to get soon in all of our lives. I was hoping everyone was planning on having New Years together. I know we will all be pretty hungover after Erica's shennanigans but I was thinking we could do something mellow, or if people were up for it, we could go out. Anyways,
Is everyone planning on spending New Years together? I can't help but look back at pictures from New Year's pasts and wish I was in them......
If our wallets are not up for going out, I would like to offer my house as a potential party venue. I believe my housemates will still all be home for the holidays.
Ok, this is weird, the guy next to me just yelled out randomly "isn't this place cozy?"
"starbucks rules!" to no one in particular, and I just instinctively answered. And now he is staring ahead blankly.....err what?

P.S. When I say home, I mean my housemates will be home in California and Louisiana, not at our home in TP

This is important! This week Matt came to me with an invitation to spend NYE in Deep Creek with some dudes. I indicated that the Quad has somewhat of a standing date but he was unimpressed by my lack of specificity regarding the who/what/when. Are we, in fact, intending to be together? Becca's sounds great to me. Particularly since going out of town would involve leaving the day after the bachelorette/hen/girls+beverages gathering, I'm not overly enthused. But, I have thwarted his efforts to hang out with his friends 3 years running so... Anyway, if you're in for NYE say that you're in so I can try to persuade him.

In other news, can we do secret santa ASAP so I can get my lady something cool and Argentine?

xoxo

yes! i, actually, had already just assumed we would nye it up together, per tradition (and had been thinking about posting this quad blog for a while...) . and better this year because becca will be there.

also, my sister, sarah, and my godsister, jessica (i think some of you have met her) will be in dc for nye. i don't know what they're doing, but i think chilling at becca's sounds perfect to me (agree w erica on the many nights out already planned for this holiday season). whatever we do, would you guys mind if i kept sarah and jessica in the loop?

but erica, we do understand that matt has been forced to do this for a while, so if you guys want to make different plans, we understand. but will miss you and might possibly throw things at you. but will still love you.

:)

I completely understood NYE to be a quad girls night. Never even considered that we might not have plans together! Haha. So yeah, I'm definitely in.
Becca's sounds good. I seriously do NOT want to forgo seeing Erica on NYE, even though there are other occasions during which we will be filled with her joviality. If it would be rift-causing for Erica and Matt, and if it's an option with Matt and the dudes, what about us traveling out to Deep Creek together? Like, whose house it is? How far away is that? Would those boys like to come to Becca's? (I'm still single, ladies!)
And secret santas... I have an idea. I can ask my friend Delvis to draw all of our names out of a hat and I'll give her my phone and have her call you guys to say who got who. As for Erica... is there a way to call you? Maybe she could email?
BIG LOVE!!

I had left NYE unbooked for you all too. :) I think Becca's place sounds wonderful - I'm really a big fan of the intimate connecting with friends in lieu of some crazy [*cough, cough, expensive*] night on the town.

My only limitation is transportation. Do you mean your parents' house Becca, or do you have a new house? I'm sure I can get a ride if it's somewhere reasonably close to my parents' house.

I'm back to being single for NYE myself. Sad, bittersweet... But a New Year. Whoo.

I have left NYE open as well. I will understand if Erica has enough of us the night before ;P and wants to go to DCL, but I think a cozy time at Becca's Takoma Park house could be quite enjoyable. Gwyn can bring the Lady Gaga for a dance party and maybe the 18 year old canvaser can come back to meet her and Abby!

What canvasser? The guy from Ithaca that was doing NYPIRG info spreading and who I invited to come live with us? Or someone else? If you knew about the first thing, how did you know/remember that?? Haha!

Haha, I did not know about your Ithaca canvasser, Abby! A young college kid came to Becca's door when she had a Labor day cook out this fall and ended up coming back over later for a beer.
