Awesome! Guess what? I did see the lights!!! They did not look as fantastic as these photos portray (we were probably further south), but we saw a large glow in the NNW sky that changed in shape and intensity slightly and turned on for about 30 seconds and off for about 5-10 minutes. It looked kind of like a large patch of heat lightning that lasted much longer than heat lightning usually does. We were actually down at the dock looking at the stars over the lake and watching for meteors when we got that extra surprise! Cool!

I saw the lights about 10 years ago in the north pole, Alaska. I love Lizzie's description too.
