Hiya quadlings,
Figured it was time for news from the West! (Can you believe I will soon be considered the middle, comparatively to other quadlings? We are intrepid.)
Today was my first day at Habitat, and I have to say, it was pretty great! Now, I know I have a habit of being over-enthusiastic about new jobs, so I'll try to keep it to a realistic level. Here's a few things I really liked:
1) Everybody is really friendly and relaxed.
2) My supervisor told me that he really expects me to run the Keys program, and make changes and mistakes and we'll figure it out, but basically he's there as support and expects me to make decisions
3) Super flexible time off. If I work on the weekend (which I will) I get comp time, likewise if I work late. Awesome! (That said, I run the program, so I still have to be aware of what's going on in my absence.)
So very exciting! Here's to new work and new experiences :)
Miss you all,
Nicky

I'm so thrilled for you Nicky! This sounds like a great fit and cheers to you for approaching new jobs with optimism and enthusiasm. I'm sending you oodles of positive vibes and hopes that this experience is everything it can be. xoxo
Go, Nicky, go!
yay nicky!! never apologize for being enthusiastic. if there is one the the quadlings are not, it is cynical and jaded. and i love us that way :) sending you good luck on the new endeavor.
and also, i was so happy to see you and mik last weekend (well, the one before that). thanks so much for letting us stay and showing us boulder. i'm still reserving judgment on eugene, but from my first impressions, boulder may win...
anyway, love and miss you. and lots of (semi-belated) luck :)
