Agreed. Though I like the honesty, it's kinda like writing "I'm usually late because I'm walking my dog" on your resume. It's cute. It's honest. But it's not going to get you a job.
Moreover, because putting your best foot forward on dates is such an ingrained social value, his choice not to observe this cultural norm makes him seem kinda nuts. Like, his lifestyle sounds rather pleasant but his choice to advertise his rusty car is a turn off- - less because of the rusty car, more because he comes off as too out there.
Or maybe I'm just not digging it because people who lack ambition are extremely unattractive to me.
