Allow me to fill you in...

I am compelled to set up a multiple choice quiz about my life, but that would take more thinking than the percocet will allow.
Chances are that most of you already know a lot of this, but for Abby I will spill some details.
I'll start with why I'm taking a narcotic painkiller. I got my tonsils out!! Those two troublesome lumps in my oropharynx are gone forever. I had been getting these gross little "stones" in my tonsils for about 2 years and, while teaching, had been sick with tonsillitis almost non-stop. The surgery was Wednesday the 2nd and they told me to allow for 3 weeks recovery. I should be much better by the time we go to Ithaca, but maybe not 100%. At least I will be eating solid foods by then!
The whole moving situation has been very disorganized. Trevor got a job as the first assistant superintendent at the Spring Creek Club (golf course) in Gordonsville, right outside Charlottesville. He moved down to Cville at the end of march when he started the job. I started to move down to Cville right after the school year ended because thats when my assistant teaching job ended, but everything got delayed because Monkey got sick. I had to wait about a week so she could be seen by the vet and take her antibiotic - that's a whole other story. I ended up only having about a week and a half down there before I had to come back up for pre-op appointments with my doctor and then have the surgery. Since I will be recovering here at my parents' house, I still have 3/4 of my belongs (the most important and most cumbersome things) here. Trev and I will also be moving to a different apt/townhouse in August, so it didn't make a lot of sense to schlep so much stuff to just be schlepped again.
Right now I am just recovering, taking care of Monkey, who is also recovering, and taking an online class that is a prerequisite for grad school. Ahh, grad school! I start August 25. I am going to Shenandoah University (nice try, Erica) for occupational therapy. It is in Winchester, VA and I will be commuting once a week from Charlottesville. Its a two and a half year program for a Master's in OT. I'm nervous that I will still be burnt out from undergrad, but also really excited.
Last thing - I'm not working right now, yikes! I couldn't really get a job for two weeks after the school year ended and then have to take off three for surgery, so I have decided to wait until August to find something part time around Cville and hopefully be able to keep the job while I'm in school.
... So you can probably see why I haven't filled you in before: nothing extremely interesting has happened (like tasting tofu chicken for the first time, wetting my pants during a test, moving to Miami, cherry picking with a replica of half of my personality, crazy dreams, abnormally tame wildlife etc...). My family did have a big cookout for my sister and Mike's first wedding anniversary and in the middle of everything a big storm came and knocked out the power. Everyone grabbed food and cushions and ran inside and all of our extended families had to cram into a hot, dark house. It turned out kind of cute, though. We did cake by candle light and everyone ended up playing board games.

As for the incentives with Trevor - I was never able to keep it up. HAha. But really, I didn't follow through with my threats or rewards, so I can't say if it works. He still smokes and I have reverted to nagging. Let me know if you have any better ideas. I feel like all my efforts to get him to quit are in vain.

Sorry if you were bored during this looong post! I'm not great at condensing.
K Bye!

Thank you! I appreciate all the filling-in.
I am currently sitting next to a brand new package of Marlboro Reds and dang if I wouldn't like to just chuck 'em in the trash. Andrew's ceiling is molding in one room and he won't let Jack go in the room with the mold so that Jack doesn't hurt his lungs... hmm... okay, bye!
