Cheers to a new chapter in our nation's history my fellow Obama supporters!!
This was a fantastic inaugural weekend down in DC, probably one of the best experiences of my young life. Below are a couple of pics of the capitol at approx 5 AM. I was colder than I have ever been for a prolonged period of time, my fingers and toes were completely numb and every 20 minutes or so I would shiver uncontrollably. The crowd was amazing though. People were singing and chanting, sharing resources, waving flags. Seeing 2 million people coexist so peacefully and joyfully was totally worth it. It was a celebration of epic proportion.
To avoid an LSAT-type scenario, before heading down to the mall I induced a state of forced dehydration beginning with a bar crawl Sunday evening. When we left the mall on Monday afternoon, I returned home to replenish my supply of nutrients with beer, white russians, and pizza. Around 5 PM when I awoke from my comatose sofa stupor to glam it up for a celebratory evening, I realized that I hadn't had any water in about 30 hours. We were in a rush and I didn't have much time to deal with it before leaving, so I chewed on the ice in my cocktails that night and avoided beer. I got viciously toasted, so at no time did it occur to me to order water from the bar.
Today I'm drinking liquids like a reverse exploded fire hydrant but, paired with my raging hangover, I am a wreck. My body feels like a dried out leather glove... but totally worth it.
Cheers friends!
P.S. Michael Franti was AMAZING last night. That man is my crack.
P.P.S. Spadden there is a safeway bag full of throw up in the bathroom. I sent Matt an email requesting that he deal with it but fyi.
